About Us

The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) is the largest and most prominent professional association for public administration. ASPA is dedicated to advancing the art, science, teaching and practice of public and non-profit administration. The organization’s core values are Accountability and Performance, Professionalism, Ethics and Social Equity.

CenTex ASPA is the local area chapter for the national association. CenTex ASPA represents 42 counties, which make up the central Texas region, and include Waco, Austin, San Antonio and College Station. We represent the network of government professionals and educators in the heart of Texas.

Local Chapters provide public administrators the opportunity to meet people from their neighborhood, city or county. Frequent lectures, luncheons, and conferences keep members up to date on what’s going on in the local public administration community. Membership in a local chapter is included in your membership.

Sections provide a forum for the expertise of administrators working in the same field. ASPA offers 19 national special-interest sections addressing issues such as health and human services, budgeting and financial management, public administration research, law and public administration and many others. A separate fee is required for section membership.

National Conference

National Conferences allow public administrators a chance to discuss the challenges confronting the field and society. ASPA’s National Conference provides you with a multitude of opportunities to gain practical information, to listen and to discuss the latest research and make valuable professional contacts while doing so.
